After working in Corporate America for over a decade, I saw what dysfunctional leadership and dysfunctional teams could do to destroy not only companies - but also people.  

Human beings, who needed community and communication, were being treated like numbers, like they didn’t matter, like they were just “billable hours.” I saw casualty after casualty and nearly became one myself.  

But then I had a life-changing event. My brother, whom I loved - my brother whom I had laughed with, cried with, talked with - and even fought with - for my whole life, died of colon cancer.   He was only 48 years old and I struggled with the realization that I would never see him on this earth again.
