Giving and Receiving
“It’s better to give, than to receive.”
We are taught that our whole lives. And sometimes we find that it is much easier to give than to receive.
Giving and receiving are both imperative to have a life of abundance as well as a heart full of gratitude and blessing. Many of us prefer to be the giver. We may find that it is so easy to be the one to give while it can be more difficult to be the one to be on the receiving end. That could be because we are not really taught how to receive.
So, how do we receive?
First, think about how you feel when you give. When you see a need and you’re able to meet it - how does that make you feel? When you receive graciously, you are allowing someone else to feel that feeling. But if we turn it down because we feel uncomfortable, we are stealing that blessing form them.
Someone who gives something to you with an open heart and with an attitude of abundance is not expecting anything in return.
It’s as simple as that? Yep. The next time you receive, give this a try:
That’s all. Giving and receiving graciously, are both an important part of our growth. Sometimes we are nudged to give, and sometimes we get to receive. Be a giver as well as a receiver with gracious, abundant attitude.
