You Can Have It All- One Day At A Time
Why am I always talking about journaling? And why do we end every episode with a journal/ writing prompt?
I'm glad you asked. journaling has been known to reduce stress, manage depression and anxiety, prioritize your fears and concerns gives you an opportunity to recognize triggers allows us space for positive encouragement and positive self talk. The act of writing itself has been shown to improve blood pressure levels and improve your mood, and increase those feel good hormones those those feelings of well being the functioning of the immune system, and improving memory. Those are some pretty awesome benefits simply from taking time in your day to write your thoughts, your dreams, your goals. I believe in the benefits of journaling so much that I created a document for you 30 days of journal prompts. If you head to the link in the show notes. This is a free resource for you so that you can start your journaling journey with me 30 days of journaling with Carrie Vee, head to the link in the show notes and grab your copy today. Yes, yes, it is true. You can have it all. You can have it all. As long as you get it all by taking one step at a time. expecting to have everything at once is like is like expecting a cake to bake by putting in one ingredient. This came to me the other day. And it's a silly analogy, but I'm going to share it with you. This is going to be a quick in and out podcast because this thought came to me and when the thought comes to me, I'm going to grab the mic, I'm going to share it with you. And it is going to resonate with at least one person. This is what I have learned when things come into my mind. And I don't share them. There is always someone later that says Gosh, I wish I had known that. Oh, well then I'm going to share it. So this is for you.
Yes, it's true. You can have it all. But one day at a time. So think about it when you are baking a cake. Now I'm going to talk about ingredients in a vegan cake because that's what I would make so that's authentic to me. A plant based cake, you don't just add one ingredient and boom there's a cake. So right you wouldn't expect to throw flour in a pan throw it in the oven in the oven and have a cake. That's not the way it works. You have ingredients that you must add. In order to have that cake bake, you need all of them. So ingredient wise for a cake for a plant based plant based cake. You're going to need some almond milk, maybe some apple cider vinegar, coconut flour or maybe rice flour, maybe almond flour, maybe green banana flour. I didn't even know that was a thing but I saw it at the store and had to try it. It's pretty daggone good. sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, maybe some avocado oil or olive oil, water, maybe some lemon juice, vanilla, almond extract. These are all the ingredients you must put in. You must put them all in, mix them all up. You've got to have the oven at the right setting. It's got to be Bake for the right amount of time. So here's another thing. Let's say you put all of those ingredients together until you bake it, it's still not a cake, it's better. Nothing wrong with batter. I happen to like cake batter a lot.
But if I if my objective is to have a cake, I have to actually bake it once it's in the pan, and that has to call and then you dump it out, you can't rush any step, it has to happen the way that the recipe lays it out. Having it all works the same way I currently have so many ideas that I want to work on, there are so many things, my hands, my hands just want to touch everything, every piece of my business every day, it's not going to work that way, I'm going to end up without a cake, I'm going to end up with a mess. If I do it that way. The idea is to focus in on one thing, finish that and move on to another. And then at the end, when the cake is done, you've you've worked on your goals, one thing at a time you focused on one you've built it, then you got another one going and you build that, then you end up with this amazing business amazing cake. But if you're Russia, or if you skip, let's say, let's say I'm baking the cake, and I decide to leave out the actual coconut flour or almond flour.
There's no way that's going to end up as a cake. You got to have that part in there. Every piece is important, every ingredient is important. Every step on your way to your goals is important. You've got to take the time to approach each and every step. So let's talk about goals for a minute. four steps that I want you to do when you because this is what people say to me, this is what my clients say to me. This is what if I speak at a women's event or at a at an event. People will say to me, okay, well, how do I know which goal to go for first, if you're like me, I have, I have a piece of paper stretched across my a wall in my office, where when I get an idea, I go and I put it on there. It lets it come out of my brain it is an in the future idea. But it's down on there so my brain can let it go. And when I'm ready to work on it, then I start writing around what I have written everything I need to do to make that a reality. One thing at a time. One thing at a time. I didn't build an online course, launch a group coaching program, write a book. I didn't do all of those things simultaneously launch a CBD line. I didn't do them all simultaneously, and worked on them one thing at a time. And then it looks like oh, you have so many things. Yeah. So can you. So can you one thing at a time.
So number one, I want you to brainstorm everything in your mind onto paper. Yes, I'm talking journaling.
Yes, I'm begging you to journal because it is so powerful. Put it all out onto paper, dump everything that is in your brain onto paper number two, circle and identify what is most important to you. Circle those things that you really want to when you when you dump your brain out onto paper. So many ideas come out if you have never done this, it is such a powerful thing to do at least once a week, take some time, sit down with an empty journal and just start dumping everything out. You have so many ideas in your brain, people who tell me why I'm not a creative person. It's because you're not allowing your creativity to flow. Because we are all we are all created as create a creative human beings. You are creative. Don't let anyone tell you, you are not especially yourself. You are creative.
Start writing everything down on paper and you will you will see I will prove it to you just take the time to do it. Get in a quiet place, brainstorm on paper, everything that you could possibly think of anything your brain tells you get down to paper number two, circle and identify what is most important to you. And number three, take a step on the ones that you've identified. Choose one and take one step. Maybe it's researching. Maybe you want to create an online course. Maybe Maybe your first step is talking to someone who's done it or looking at hosting sites. Maybe you're maybe one of the things you want to do is write a book. Maybe you're going to Google someone to help me write a book. We have this amazing thing called the internet we can find what we need to know. And number four is work on your list. One step at a time, brainstorm everything number two, circle and identify what's most important to you. Number three Three, start on a plan with one step, I am not saying write out a 5000 page business plan, or map out the entire goal. Because here's the truth. Here's the truth, you're going to take one step, two steps, three steps, and then you might meet someone who completely changes the trajectory of that goal. You can have an end game in mind. But all those steps in between, those are going to happen as you start taking your steps. You don't have to know all the steps. This is what I hear from my clients all the time. I don't know exactly how to do that I don't know how to do I don't know how to get from point A to point z, you don't have to know. You only have to take one step. And that step will lead to the next and so on and so on and so on. And number four work on that list work on that list. You're making one step at a time. Just like the cake baking in the oven, your goals take time. You can have it all. You absolutely can one step at a time.
