Fit in Fitness

Hey hey!!

How has your week been? After our chat about sleep last week, are you choosing to honor your body and get in bed on time? Night after night, no excuses?  I know it can be challenging. I used to say, “I struggle with getting to bed on time.”  But then I realized that I was speaking that reality into my life. My new phrase is, “I am a badass at getting to bed on time.”  Much more catchy, wouldn’t you say?

Let’s continue this focus on energy (that’s what sleep is, after all!). Catherine Pulsifer is quoted as saying, “Our health is something we often take for granted. But, there are some things in life that should never be taken for granted. Take care of yourself.”

Take care of yourself. What awesome advice! Never take your health for granted. I spent most of my life 100 pounds overweight. Taking control, dropping the weight, moving my body, sleeping - quite literally saved my life.

In these challenging times of COVID-19, it may take a bit more effort to fit in fitness. Maybe your gym isn’t offering classes, maybe there is limited access to your favorite machines. Does it matter?  I mean - why not just take the time off - you can always get back when things fully open up again, right? Don’t fall for that line of thinking!  Our bodies are made to MOVE. Daily.  Move daily. In order to have the energy to be and do all that you were created to be and do, you MUST take care of you. Honor your body. Everyday.

That means fitting in movement.

Start by keeping track of your day. Map out any wasted time you find in your day. Can you walk during lunch?  How about a bit of exercise before work? A quick workout while dinner is cooking instead of scrolling Facebook or IG? How about a walk after dinner? A quick gallop around your office?  Bust a move and dance like no-one is watching.

There are great on-line options. I use Beachbody on Demand for awesome home workouts. I love the choice of weights, cardio, dancing, barre, and FUN.  ACE fitness also has an on demand library that is loads of fun.   Daily Burn is another great option. I’m sure you can find Zumba, kick boxing, barre, pilates, yoga on YouTube.   I also have a Total Gym XLS that I love to use. And one of my all time favorite breaks in the day is to pick up my weighted hoola hoop and give it a whirl for 10 or 15 minutes.

NO EXCUSES. You have time. Your body needs it.  It’s that simple

What are you going to do TODAY to add movement into your day?  A little hoola hooping? Taking a walk?  Putting on a fun video?  I can’t wait to hear from you how movement improves your day, your life.

It’s never too late.

Life is Short, Choose Wisely

XOXO, Carrie

P.S.  Inside The Radical Empowerment Method we go into depth on why fitness and nutrition are so crucial.  I would love to see you join in the movement!  You deserve it.  Your body needs it.
