I want to empower you to feel sexy again.
You’ve probably heard me talk about this, but I’m not done.
I posted a Reel over on Instagram recently about how women over the age of 40 ask me if they can still make the most of their life even though they’re out of their “prime”... and I got an interesting response.
A man I don’t know, and who doesn’t know me, wrote a novel in the comments.
He was ranting about how there’s a difference in the “sexual marketplace value” of a woman and her personal worth.
Yes, you read that right, sexual marketplace value.
He goes on to say “Every woman KNOWS they lose sexual value in the marketplace starting at age 30, that’s a biological FACT…”
Excuse me?
That insinuates that a woman’s sexual value is only tied to their ability to have kids… which doesn’t end at age 30, mind you.
He continued on to say: “...a woman’s PRIME sexual marketplace value is between the ages of 18-28 years old… Maybe getting some counseling is a better option rather than enabling this behavior by forming a group of lost women who only commiserates with each other versus getting healed and moving forward in their soul’s purpose and destiny.”
Can you believe that? AND, after other women, including myself, were trying to explain how he was missing the mark, he commented on other pieces of content of mine.
A woman’s value is not differentiated between personal value and sexual value. Even if they were different, her sexual value does not diminish after the age of 30. Why is it so hard for people to think that older women can’t have sex and enjoy it? People think that after a woman hits a certain age and starts going through menopause, they won’t enjoy sex, or they shouldn’t.
It doesn’t have to be that way!
If you’re a woman over the age of 40 - I want to empower you to feel sexy again. Just because you can no longer have children, that doesn’t make you any less desirable.
This is just ONE of the many stigmas that society puts on women as they age - and I’m a part of a revolution to stop them.
Are you with me?? Comment below: what is an age stereotype that you can’t stand??
