There Is Nothing We Can't Do with Matthew Harms
I recently sat down with my good friend Matthew Harms. Matthew is a New York-born and based Ghostwriter and Author Coach who founded Penforhire in 2019. It has been said that everyone has a story to tell, but unfortunately, most go through life thinking theirs will never be read since they lack the ability to construct cohesive and compelling written content into the finished form of a book. We discuss how when we set our mind to something, there is nothing we can't do. Read on to find out more!
So, where do we begin? Let’s dive into the 4 top tips from Matthew.
Knowing the difference between stress and distress
The most successful people in the world still have stress. But it's all how you manage that stress that either makes it productive and helps you keep pushing forward or it spirals into distress. Stress is a is a really powerful force to push you forward when managed properly.
2. Understanding diminishing returns
Diminshing returns is when you put too much effort into something and get little in return. There is only so much quality production you can do in a day. When you're working for yourself or working towards a goal, you you want to think that you can do everything and then some. The truth is, it's not healthy or productive at all. Sometimes we can convince ourselves that we're putting in all this time in because it's a good thing, but we are really deceiving ourselves and it has now become detrimental to the end game.
3. Compare to others less
As a society we need to stop putting so much emphasis on material things. We all have our own life to live. If you spend your whole life trying to be someone else, it’s not going to get you very far. How much of what we see is really real or is it just what people want us to think is real? We need to stop putting so much emphasis on material things and start living more in the present.
4. Figure out what will make you happiest
What is the one thing that would be the most impactful, the most enjoyable, the thing that you have been putting off the most? Figure out it out as well as how to do it by the end of 2023, because there is nothing that we can't do.
What is it that you have been longing to do? Will you make 2023 the year that it happens? I believe in you!
