Be Open To The Messages

Do you ever catch yourself when you're on "auto-pilot"? You know those times where you're driving and you get to where you're going and think, "Wow, I don't even remember how I got here!" I can bet that the vast majority of those instances, we were spending that time thinking about something that COULD happen.

In other words, something that's not even true. And when we do this, we're making it harder on ourselves to be in the moment, to savor what we've been given. So, how can we actually be OPEN to the messages and learn to be more present in our lives?

If we are focused on the past or on the future, we are focused on things that have either already happened, or that may or may not happen, instead of what is happening right now. Most of the time, we are living in an untruth. When we are obsessing about the past or projecting the future, we are missing today.

However, if we stay focused in the present, we are open to the messages that come to us. Sometimes those messages come by way of the words we hear someone say in a podcast, sometimes they come in a book we read, or even a dream that we have. Only when we are open and asking to receive those messages, will we be able to hear them loud and clear.

Most of us live somewhere other than the right now. There’s power in the right now.

Imagine if we stopped worrying about the things that we wished we said or did. If we stopped feeling guilty about the past. If we refused to project the future. When we do these things we are letting these thoughts affect our today. By letting ourselves be affected today, we are closing ourselves off to messages that will put us where we want to be.

Let go of the past. Stop living in tomorrow. Be open to today. There are messages everywhere, just for you.
