What If You Took a Chance On YOU?

What Would You Do If You Believed in Yourself?

What would change if you stopped doubting and truly believed in yourself?

This question came to me during a conversation with my husband about business, profit, and the narratives we attach to making money. I’ve heard it all before—how people get uncomfortable when others profit from their passion. But here’s the truth: business without profit is just an expensive hobby. And choosing to thrive isn't greedy—it's responsible. It's brave. It's believing in what you’re capable of creating.

And that brings us back to you.

What would you do if you believed in yourself? Really believed. Not in a half-hearted, maybe-someday way—but with the deep knowing that the gifts you have were meant to be used. That the dreams planted inside you are possible. That your age, your stage, your past, your fears—none of it disqualifies you.

I want to share a story from my life where this belief changed everything.

Braces and Bravery

A few months ago, I made a decision that scared me more than I care to admit: I got braces. Not at 14 or 24. At nearly 60. I needed them not for cosmetic reasons, but to preserve my dental health. Still, I knew what people might think. I knew how I might look—especially as someone showing up on camera every day creating user-generated content (UGC) for brands.

I was afraid brands would stop hiring me. And one did. But most didn’t. The rest? They kept coming. And I kept going.

Because I had already decided to believe in myself.

Starting Something New (Scared)

Last October, I dove into UGC. My best friend Kayla sent me a platform link multiple times before I finally clicked it. I started small—$5 jobs, free product in exchange for a photo or a short video. I did 30 of them before moving up. Slowly, I began earning more—$250 for a 60-second clip, brand contracts, ongoing content gigs. My dogs even got in on it (and yes, they now earn their own treats!).

Was I nervous? Of course. I wondered if companies wanted women my age. I thought I’d missed the window—that only younger creators were in demand.

But I was wrong.

The world is hungry for real people. People with life experience. With wrinkles. With stories. With families and messy homes and big hearts.

You’re Not Too Late

My confidence didn’t come overnight. It came in inches. In choices. In showing up, learning, editing clunky videos, and pressing publish anyway. It came in feedback, in fun, in fumbling forward.

I used to tell myself I wasn’t creative. That I didn’t know how. That I didn’t have the tools. But belief changes everything. When you believe you can, you figure it out. You ask questions. You grow. You get better. And somewhere along the way, confidence catches up to your courage.

A New Opportunity for You

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, wondering if you’re too old, too late, or too unsure to try something new—this is for you.

Kayla and I are hosting a pop-up retreat in the Outer Banks, June 10–12. It’s designed for women who are ready to tap into their creativity, show up with confidence on camera, and start building income through user-generated content. It’s fun. It’s bold. It’s your next step.

If you’ve ever said, “I wish I could make a little extra money without losing time with my family,” or “I just want to try something different”—this might be your moment.

You can be scared. Just don’t be stuck.

You are more creative than you think. And you don’t need permission. You just need belief.
